Magics' Hedo Turkoglu Suspended for Positive Steroid Testing

It's not an injury, but Orlando Magics' forward Hedo Turkoglu has been suspended for 20 games positive steroid testing. The NBA said Turkoglu tested positive for methenolone, an anabolic steroid. His suspension is effective immediately, starting with Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Turkoglu says that he took medication to help him deal with a shoulder injury but didn't check to see if it contained any of the banned NBA substances.
"As a player, this is the worst situation that you want to be in," Turkoglu said. "I'm just sorry to put the organization in this situation. ... I should have double-checked and researched and shouldn't be in this situation."
The Magic’s GM Rob Hennigan released statement backing Turkoglu.
“Hedo unknowingly took a banned substance,” Hennigan said. “There are more than 125 banned substances on the NBA List, and we spend a lot of time educating our players on the contents of that list and will certainly continue to do so moving forward. We believe this was an honest mistake.”
Turkoglu stated that he was tested in December and did not learn of the positive testing until a week ago.

For the Magic, his loss will not be that big of a blow as it might have been last season. He has missed all but 10 games due to various injuries including a broken hand and back problems. For the year, Turkoglu has played 17.1 minutes per game while averaging 2.9 points on an atrocious 26.4% shooting while grabbing 2.4 boards and handing out 2.1 assists. From beyond the arc, Turkoglu has made just one all season on 24 attempts.

Let's just say this has not been Turkoglu's year.
