Carmelo Anthony's status for the All-Star Game on Sunday is not certain after suffering an injury last night. Anthony suffered an arm injury in the New York Knicks' loss last night to the Toronto Raptors, and the injury could limit or prevent Anthony from playing altogether in the All-Star Game.
According to an AP report, Anthony suffered a deep bruise in his right arm. The bruise was bad enough to cause numbness in the arm. If the numbness does not clear up, he will not be able to play in the ASG.
Anthony has been one of the best players in the game this season. He may be having his best season ever, and he's doing so while leading the Knicks to the second-best record in the NBA. He is right alongside LeBron James in the MVP talks this season.
Anthony is averaging 28.6 points, 2.7 assists, and 6.5 rebounds per game this year. He has stepped up his game big time and is trailing Kevin Durant but just 0.4 points per game to lead the league in scoring. This is a nice bump up from Anthony's career averages (which are still pretty good by the way) of 24.9 points, 3.1 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game.
