Despite the injury, the Boston Celtics have made Rajon Rondo available for trade. However, a deal is unlikely. If the team were to get anything done, it would probably have to be after the season. Right now, Rondo is rehabbing from a torn ACL.
According to ESPN Boston, if the Celtics received an offer for Rondo, they would not immediately turn it down. It's not beyond the realm of possibility for a club to reach out for a trade involving an injured player, but they would have to get that player at a discounted rate.
Rondo suffered the season-ending injury last month, but he is expected to be ready for the start of training camp next year. For a team on the verge of competing, it would be an interesting move. They would have to give up something now for the chance at success next season.
Rondo has averaged 11.1 points and 8.3 assists per game in his career. Prior to the injury, he was averaging 13.7 points and 11.1 assists per game.
