As the Josh Smith rumors continue, the Boston Celtics may have entered the picture. Knowing they won't be able to read Kevin Garnett, the Celtics may be exploring other options. This could include a move that would involve Paul Pierce.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Celtics would almost have to give up Pierce to get Josh Smith. But the deal does not seem likely.

Boston has done a solid job of staying in contention this year despite struggling for most of the season. However, they are now looking toward the future. They will need to have a team that can compete once Kevin Garnett retires.
Josh Smith can help there. He has spent the last nine seasons in Atlanta, but he is still just 27 years old. In his career, Smith has averaged 15.2 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. This season, he has stepped it up. He is averaging 17.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
