Omri Casspi was suffering from appendicitis. This is why he missed last night's game and why he had to be taken to the hospital Saturday. Early reports simply stated that Casspi had to be taken to the hospital with stomach issues.
According to an Associated Press report, Casspi had his appendix removed and was kept in the hospital. The issue was caught soon enough, which is important. An burst appendix offers up so many more problems than simply removing it when the appendicitis first presents.
Casspi is not exactly a dominant force of the court for Cleveland right now. However, the Cavaliers forward makes the most of his minutes. He is averaging 4.0 points and 2.2 rebound per game in a little over 11 minutes per game this season. In his four-year NBA career, Casspi has averaged 8.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
