Kirk Hinrich is missing time again due to an injury. This has not been his year at all. The Chicago Bulls guard sat out last night's game with an elbow issue. It marked the fourth time Hinrich has had to miss time due to an injury.
According to an Associated Press report, Hinrich had been suffering soreness in his elbow which led to his last extended absence. However, he tried to make a comeback in the Bulls' last game before last night and the elbow pain flared up.
Hinrich has only played in 41 games this season. He, like many of the other Bulls players, has dealt with injuries throughout the year. Hinrich can certainly help the Bulls, and his absence is a difficult one to overcome, but the Bulls are struggling in general right now.
Chicago has slipped to fifth place and are in danger of dropping to sixth place. The Atlanta Hawks are just one game behind them. The Bulls are 31-23 on the season, which is still impressive considering they have not had their best player all season long. However, if they keep battling injuries, the team may slip even further in the standings.
