The Washington Wizards have had an awful season. However, they got some good news. John Wall, who has missed the entire season with a stress reaction in his left knee, is set to come back soon. How soon? Reports are that he will return within the next two weeks.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated says that sources are telling him Wall will return to the Wizards in the next two weeks. Wall participated in limited practice last Thursday and has made enough progress that he should be cleared for full contact soon.
"This is Christmas all over for him, I'm sure, to finally reach this point," Wittman said, according to the Washington Post. "You could see the spark in his eyes. So we just got to be patient. He's got to be itching to push this as fast as he can. We got to be careful with that."Wall was one of the most electric young players Washington has seen in quite some time. With GIlbert Arenas gone, the team once again had an offensive threat that could excite the crowd. Unfortunately, Wall developed the stress reaction in his knee. If the team had not been as cautious as they have been, the injury could have developed into a fractured patella.
Wall will be entering his third NBA season. He was the number one overall pick out of Kentucky in 2010. He has averaged 16.3 points per game and 8.2 assists per game in his career.
