Stephen Jackson was injured in a collision with a waitress last night. And no, this was not after the game when the team went out for food. This was during the game. Jackson turned his ankle during the collision and had to leave the game.
John Shuhman of NBA.com says the waitress was squatting down at the court-side seats just behind the sideline when Jackson was attempting a three-point shot. When Jackson landed and stepped back, he collided with the waitress, fell and turned is ankle.
Jackson's injury is being diagnosed as a sprain, but his status for the Spurs' next game is not yet known. San Antonio takes on the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. If he can't go on Saturday, it will certainly hurt the Spurs. Jackson is averaging 6.9 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. He has been a vital role player for the team.
Jackson is a 13-year NBA veteran. He has spent the last two seasons with San Antonio. In his career, Jackson has averaged 15.7 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game.
