The Denver Nuggets are expected to trade center Timofey
Mozgov prior to next month’s NBA trade deadline, according to Christopher Dempsey of The Denver Post.
In less than a month, Timofey Mozgov is unlikely to be with the Nuggets.
The Nuggets have received more calls from inquiring teams on Mozgov than any of their other players. Dempsey attributes this to two reasons.
Mozgov has shown flashes of being a serviceable center in the NBA since being acquired by the Nuggets from the New York Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony trade. However, he’s lost playing time due to the presence of JaVale McGee and the emergence of Kosta Koufos. He’s now the “odd man out,” according to Dempsey, with the Nuggets also having Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler playing power forward.
Mozgov is also an expiring contract, which Dempsey equates to “gold in the NBA.”
The Miami Heat are among the teams that have reportedly inquired on Mozgov, according to Dempsey.
