Hawks’ Lou Williams Suffers Knee Injury

Atlanta Hawks guard Lou Williams suffered a non-contact injury to his right knee during last night’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets, according to Brett Pollakoff of Pro Basketball Talk.

Williams sustained the injury during the second quarter of the game. He planted while on a fast break, his knee seemed to buckle, and he immediately limped off the floor, according to Pollakoff. He ultimately required a wheelchair to make it back to the Hawks’ locker room.

Atlanta officially called it a right knee sprain, but tests will continue when the team returns home. Knee injuries are never good, and this one certainly looks ugly considering there was no contact involved.

Williams is averaging 14.5 points and 3.7 assists per game while seeing 29.2 minutes of action per night for Atlanta in his first season with the club.
