Rudy Gay's trade rumors won't stop. The Memphis Grizzlies' forward had been the center of numerous trade rumors, including the most recent on; that he could be headed to the Toronto Raptors. As of now, there has not been a deal enticing enough for the Grizzlies to let Gay go, but they are talking to other teams.
Marc Stein of ESPN confirmed that the Grizzlies were talking to the Raptors about a trade that would send Gay to Toronto. He says Toronto has been Gay's most determined suitor and they seem willing to give up a package that would make Memphis happy.
Gay has managed to stay healthy throughout the season, but even if Toronto trades for him, it is too late to salvage their season. The Raptors are of course looking to the future, and Gay can certainly help the team be successful. He has helped Memphis. The Grizzlies are currently 29-15 and in fourth place in the Western Conference.
Gay has averaged 17.2 points and 5.9 assists per game this season. He has been a big part of Memphis' success this season, which is why it's strange that the Grizzlies are so eager to part ways. However, the team is trying to remain competitive for the long-term, so if they can get a big return on a trade involving Gay, it could make sense.
