Chris Paul had missed the Los Angeles Clippers last three games after suffering a bruised knee against the Orlando Magic last Saturday. In his absence, the team still managed to go 3-0. Last night, Paul returned and helped the Clippers run their winning streak to four-straight.
Paul played 35 minutes against the Washington Wizards, and the Clippers came away with a 94-87 victory. Los Angeles is playing some great basketball right now, and they have proven just how good they are overall while Chris Paul was out. They have balance and depth - two things not many NBA teams can boast. The Clippers have won seven of their last eight games and have moved to just a half-game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the Western Conference.
With Chris Paul back on the court, the team should only continue to succeed. Eric Bledsoe did a fantastic job filling in while Paul was hurt, but Paul is perhaps the best assists guy in the NBA. He is averaging 9.7 assists to go along with 17.0 points per game this season.
Paul is in his second season in Los Angeles after the blockbuster trade went down that brought him there from new Orleans. He has been in the league for eight years now, and in that time he has averaged 18.7 points and 9.8 assists per game.
