Chicago Bulls News: Joakim Noah Out with Flu-like Symptoms

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will not play in tonight's game against the Orlando Magic. This will be Noah's first missed game of the season. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports on the illness.
Noah managed just two points and four rebounds in 30 minutes of Monday's home loss to the Bobcats, clearly looking lifeless. Noah didn't practice Tuesday nor attend Wednesday's morning shootaround.
Taj Gibson will start for Noah.

Joakim Noah has been playing very well this season with 12.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He's shooting a career-high 81.1% from the stripe but nearly tied his career-low with 48.3% from the field. However, his passing has improved immensely as he almost doubled last year's assist numbers with 4.4 a game this year. For his team, that's a Assist Percentage of 18.5%. Plus, he's managed to continue being a defensive presence down-low with a 97 Defensive Rating.

Typically, a win would still be expected from a Bulls team playing a Howard-less Magic team. But the Magic have played surprisingly decent this season after trading their star big man and currently sit with a 12-19 record after losing to the Heat by just two last game. Without both Derrick Rose and Noah, it will be much harder to pull off a win, especially at Orlando.
