When Avery Bradley returned from injury a few days ago, he provided the Boston Celtics with immediate depth. Depending on what the next couple of weeks hold, he may be asked to step up and provide more than depth. The team is positioning itself for a potential trade now that Bradley is back and Jarvis Varnado and Kris Joseph have been waived.
According to A. Sherrod Blakely of CSN New England, the Celtics appear to be looking at a multi-player deal. Blakely says there has been increased interest in Courtney Lee, and with Bradley back from injury, a deal involving Lee is very possible.
Bradley missed the entire season prior to his debut on Wednesday night last week. He has now played in three games this season and has averaged 5.3 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game. He is returning from double shoulder surgery, but has appeared unaffected by any lingering issues that may be present.
Bradley has been in the NBA three seasons now and gives the Celtics flexibility in the trade market. Previously, any interest in Lee was tabled because they needed his presence. With Bradley back, that's no longer the case necessarily.
