The Los Angeles Lakers are finally playing with the team they expected when the preseason ended. Pau Gasol came back last week, and now Steve Nash has returned. The Lakers welcomed him back with a victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Los Angeles beat Golden State 118-115 in OT in Steve Nash's first game back since breaking his leg. Nash suffered the injury in the second game of the season. Originally diagnosed as a shin contusion, the severity of the injury quickly became apparent as the days went by. Finally, it was revealed that Nash had a small fracture in his fibula. The team took its time in letting Nash heal and was careful not to rush him back.
Nash managed to score 12 points and dish out nine assists last night. Kobe Bryant had 34 points and 10 rebounds. The win moved the Lakers to 13-14 on the season.
With Nash back on the court and running coach Mike D'Antoni's offense like the team envisioned, the Lakers will look to get back on track - and they will start by getting back to .500. They'll get their first shot on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks.
