I'll admit right out the gate, I'm partial to Mike Bibby. I am from Tucson, Arizona. I am a University of Arizona basketball fan. Bibby is an icon in Tucson, bringing the city it's only National Championship in basketball. That being said, Bibby wants to play in the NBA again.
According to an interview Bibby did for HoopsHype, the 34-year old point guard wants to play again. Bibby played just 39 games last season and could not land with another team to start this season, but that doesn't mean it's over. Bibby says he is staying ready in case a team comes calling.
Bibby suffered injuries during the 2011-12 season that limited him and may have ultimately ended his career. He has battled injuries over the last few seasons and saw his production dip. All this led to Bibby being out of the game this year - at least at the start of the season.
Bibby averaged just 2.6 points per game and 2.1 assists per game last year. In his career, Bibby has averaged 14.7 points per game and 5.5 assists per game. He is banking on another shot based on the fact that Derek Fisher just got one more chance. It could happen.
