The Detroit Pistons are looking to get some sort of return on Austin Daye. His career has not panned out the way they thought it would. The 24-year old forward does not play often enough to be a part of the Pistons' future, and he is in the final year of his rookie contract. So Detroit is looking for a potential trade, but it's unlikely that they'll find one.
Daye is being actively shopped a source told Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports. The problem the Pistons will face, though, is Daye lack of exposure.
Daye is averaging just 7.9 minutes per game this season, and he has averaged just 16.0 minutes per game in his career. He's done a solid job of capitalizing on those minutes, but his 2.4 points per game doesn't exactly make him a top trade target.
If the Pistons cannot trade him this year, they can make him a new offer or let him become a free agent. It's clear that the Pistons will not make a qualifying offer, so regardless of whether a trade can be made, this will be Daye's last season in Detroit.
