The Brooklyn Nets got a boost last night with the return of Brook Lopez. Lopez had missed the team's previous seven games due to a sprained foot. However, he returned last night to help the Nets. Brooklyn took care of the Nuggets in double overtime 107-105.
Lopez scored nine points and pulled down four boards. He was not quite as productive as his normal self which was to be expected after the layoff he went through. However, Lopez should be able to slide back into the fold in no time. He has been with the Nets for the past five seasons.
The Nets are having a nice season in their first year since moving out of New Jersey. They are 13-9 on the season. They were red-hot early in the year, but during Lopez's absence, the team went 2-5.
Lopez has averaged 17.5 points in his career and 7.5 rebounds per game. So far this season, Lopez is averaging 18.5 points per game. The Nets will need more production than they got from him last night if they want to continue their success this season.
