Derek Fisher has barely been a member of the Dallas Mavericks for five minutes (exaggeration) and he already hurt himself. Fortunately, the injury was very minor and hardly even slowed him down. The veteran point guard was elbowed and suffered a bloody nose in practice yesterday according to NBA.com.
Fisher was recently acquired by the Mavericks to shore up their point guard position. He is expected to start today against the Detroit Pistons. Fisher's bloody nose will certainly not hold him out of the game tonight.
Fisher is a 15-year veteran. He will start his 16th NBA season when he plays tonight. In his career, Fisher has averaged 8.6 points per game and 3.1 assists per game in his career.
