Despite rumors and sentiment to the contrary, the Los
Angeles Lakers are not interested in opening up a roster spot to add a veteran
player such as Derek Fisher or Kenyon Martin, according to Marc Spears of
Yahoo! Sports.

Fisher and the Dallas Mavericks parted ways recently,
leading some to speculate that a reunion with the Lakers could be in his
immediate future.
However, now that the Lakers have Steve Nash back, there isn’t
as much need for the addition of a veteran guard. While Fisher experienced
success during his time with Los Angeles, he saw his level of play deteriorate
this season in Dallas, especially on the defensive end.
At this point, Fisher isn’t a significantly better option
than two players the Lakers already have on roster; Chris Duhon and Darius
Morris.
