The Los Angeles Lakers got Pau Gasol back this week and they were hoping to get Steve Nash back as well. Nash's return is coming, but he may not be ready this week. The Lakers point guard has been participating in full-contact practices, but he may not be ready to go Saturday.
Mark Medina of the Daily News said Nash will be iffy for today's game, but he will be ready to go for the Lakers' Christmas Day matchup. He has gone through two full practices now and is feeling better. However, there is still some residual soreness.
“There’s probably a low chance tomorrow,” Nash said following practice here at the Lakers’ facility. “But I’m definitely playing on Christmas for sure.”
Nash has been out since he fractured his leg in the second game of the season. He was not expected to miss as much time as he has, but the Lakers did not want to rush him back.
Nash has averaged 14.4 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game in his career. The Lakers could use those numbers back on the court to help them IBM back into playoff contention.
