Jrue Holiday's foot is not recovering as fast as he'd like. Rather than the pain subsiding, it is getting worse. Holiday missed last night's game against the Dallas Mavericks and the Philadelphia 76ers fell, 107-100 with Holiday on the bench.
According to Dei Lynam of CSN Philly, Holiday said his foot hurt worse Tuesday than it did on Monday. Holiday injured the foot last Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls and has been resting it ever since. However, yesterday and Monday Holiday tried to be a little more active. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of pain.
“It hurts when I plant, when I try to make cuts. And I didn’t really try defense,” Holiday said. “It hurts when I plant to go up for a layup or trying to go different directions on the court.”Holiday was officially diagnosed with a left foot sprain. He has missed the 76ers' last three games with the injury. With him out of the lineup, Philadelphia has gone 0-3. They will need him back to get back into the playoff picture and remain competitive through the rest of the season.
Holiday has averaged 18.4 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game this season. In his career, he has averaged 12.5 points per game. Holiday is in his fourth year in the NBA. He has spent each season with the 76ers and shown constant improvement. Now, the 76ers whill have to wait and hope that his foot shows improvement and he can get back on the floor.
