The Miami Heat could take a hit Sunday if their biggest star can't play Sunday. Fortunately, LeBron James is expected to be able to go against the Washington Wizards Sunday. James sat out of practice Friday, but he is not expected to miss any time on the court.
According to Mike Wallace of ESPN.com, James is nursing a bruised shoulder. James suffered the injury Wednesday night in a hard fall. He went to the court and was in immediate pain. However, James stayed in the game and scored a total of 31 points.
The Heat have had their ups and downs this season, but they have remained relatively healthy so far this season. There have been bumps and bruises, but for the most part, nothing serious has happened. James' injury is not serious, but the fact that he missed practice is concerning. His official status will be announced on Sunday.
James is averaging 25.5 points per game this season and 8.6 rebounds per game this season. He is having another All-Star level performance this year, and the Heat look like one of the Association's best teams.
Miami is 14-6 on the season. They have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. Only the New York Knicks have a better record. If James, for whatever reason, can't go on Sunday, the team will have to fall back on Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. However, Wade has struggled a bit this season. James is the cog that keeps the Heat going.
