While Kevin Love may be back, the best news the Minnesota Timberwolves may have received in the midst of his return is that Love is not even back to 100 percent yet. Love scored 24 points in his second game back on the court and looked dominant. However, he could get better as he comes closer to being back to normal.
In an interview with CSN Northwest, Love said he's not even close to being back to 100 percent. He came back from his fractured hand three weeks earlier than planned, so he still has some conditioning to do.
"Still got a ways to go conditioning wise, still need to get my legs, and my hand back, too,” Love said of his status.Kevin Love may be the key to helping the Timberwolves into the playoffs. Minnesota is currently in last place in the Northwest Division, but they are just one game below .500. With Love back, the team can certainly make a run.
Love played 36 minutes yesterday, scored 24 points, and pulled down 13 rebounds. It looked like vintage Love, but if he's not 100 percent, there's reason to believe he'll get better. In his career, Love has averaged 17.4 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game. Last season may have been his breakout year, though. Love averaged 26.0 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per game.
Minnesota has been hit hard with injuries this season, but Love is back. They hope to get Ricky Rubio back. They could have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Especially once Love is back to 100 percent.
