Shawn Marion has been dealing with a sprained right knee and has missed the Dallas Mavericks' last five games. However, he is going to try to play tonight. After their morning practice, Marion spoke with reporters and made his plans known.
According to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News, Marion will likely be in the lineup tonight against the Indiana Pacers. This is good news for the Mavericks who have also been without Dirk Nowitzki. Marion has been rehabbing ever since he first sprained the knee two weeks ago.
"I'm tired of doing rehab," he said. "It's gotten better everyday. It's still a little sore, but it's time to get this thing going."Marion has averaged 16.4 points per game in his career. He has been an above-average player throughout his time in the NBA. Marion has made four All-Star teams in his career, and saw a great deal of success during his time in Phoenix.
The Mavericks can use an extra scoring boost. They are just 5-4 so far this season. This puts them two games back of first and in third place in the division. The team is hoping they can hold on long enough for Nowitzki to return. Perhaps Marion can help.
