Utah Jazz guard Mo Williams will be out in tonight's rematch with the Los Angeles Lakers due to a groin injury. Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports that he is suffering from a strained right adductor muscle.
The 29-year-old guard is suffering a strained right adductor muscle and will take the night off in the Jazz's game at the Honda Center (8 p.m. MDT, ROOT Sports).Williams will be playing in his tenth year in the NBA on his fourth team after being traded to the Clippers in the middle of the 2010-2011 season. Williams averaged 13.2 points and 3.1 assists per game last season playing mostly off the bench. The injury does not seem severe and he should be at full-strength come the start of the regular season. He is a very serviceable guard for the Clippers and could be starting for some teams.
Williams is expected to play Wednesday night when the Jazz take on his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, at the Staples Center.
