Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose doesn’t think he’ll
be the same player he was before tearing his ACL; he thinks he’ll be better.
"I'm going to be a better player, but who knows in what area?" Rose said at the team's media day session. "My legs have never been this strong before. My upper body has never been this strong before. My core has never been this strong before. I'm just going to see how far this takes me."
After tearing his ACL during a first-round playoff game
against the Philadelphia 76ers last season, Rose is expected to be sidelined at
least until January 2013. While his rehab is going extremely well according to
the team, Chicago is still planning on proceeding cautiously with the
23-year-old.
Rose put together another impressive campaign during the
2011-12 regular season, averaging 21.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 7.9 assists
compared to 3.1 turnovers per game.
