Derrick Rose Injury News: Bulls PG Sidelined for Season?

There have recently been rumors spreading that Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose acknowledged he could miss the entire 2012-13 NBA season. However, Bryan Crawford of NBCChicago.com believes the only way Rose will be sidelined for the entire year will be if he experiences a setback during rehab or the “crippling mental fear of re-injury.”

For his part, D. Rose has said a number of times that he doesn't even know when he'll be back. But realistically speaking, only two things could sideline him for the entire year: a setback in rehab or the crippling mental fear of re-injury.

Rose tore his ACL in April and doctors have said that it could take the superstar anywhere from eight to 12 months to recover. The Bulls have said he isn’t returning until fully healthy, and some question the merit of bringing him back if the team struggles during the regular season.

For his part, Rose doesn’t have an idea of when he’ll return for Chicago, but his rehab was reportedly ahead of schedule coming out of the summer.
